MEET OUR FOUNDER: TASHA STEVENSON 

Leadership Rooted in Expereince and Expertise

Tasha Stevenson is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in directing legal teams, developing litigation strategies, and conducting legal training. Her career began at the Social Security Administration Office of the General Counsel in Dallas, TX, where she serves as a Supervisory Attorney since April 2012. In this role, she manages a team of up to forty attorneys, overseeing labor and employment matters, and general civil litigation across multiple circuits. Tasha serves as the agency’s chief contract negotiator with labor organizations and provided executive briefings and litigation strategy recommendations to the agency’s leadership. Her responsibilities also include developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, training managers on personnel grievances, disciplinary matters, and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

In addition to her supervisory role, Tasha took on the position of Acting Deputy Chief Counsel from March 2020 to September 2020, where she directed five supervisors, forty attorneys, and five support staff members. During this time, she provided critical legal advice and coached attorneys on various labor, employment, privacy, and disclosure matters. She also developed a strategic training program for new attorneys, ensuring they were well-versed in essential legal areas, including reasonable accommodation, FMLA, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Title VII. Her efforts included presenting executive briefings to provide real-time advice to managers, highlighting her capability in legal education and training.

Throughout her career, Tasha is dedicated to enhancing the skills and knowledge of her colleagues and managers through comprehensive training programs. She trains managers on new labor contracts and various HR matters, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools to handle personnel grievances, disciplinary issues, and other employment-related concerns. Her expertise in developing and delivering training sessions has significantly contributed to the agency's ability to manage legal risks and comply with complex regulations.

 

Tasha holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Arkansas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Spelman College.
